The National Center for Appropriate Technology (NCAT) is partnering with Holistic Management International (HMI) to bring its Armed to Farm (ATF) training to the Southwest.

ATF trainings include an engaging blend of farm tours, hands-on activities, and interactive classroom instruction. NCAT Sustainable Agriculture specialists will teach the training sessions. Staff from HMI, USDA agencies, and experienced crop and livestock producers will provide additional instruction.

This training is for veterans in the Southwest, with preference given to those in New Mexico. The number of participants will be limited. Spouses or farm partners are welcome as well but must submit a separate application.

Click HERE to apply by February 11. NCAT will notify selected participants by February 18.

Armed to Farm 2.0

Armed to Farm 2.0 will return in 2022!

Armed to Farm 2.0 is a next-level sustainable agriculture training designed for those who have attended an Armed to Farm in the past. ATF 2.0 provides more in-depth curriculum on business planning, financial management, marketing, and scaling-up production. We tailor hands-on activities at area farms to participants’ needs and focus on more advanced production, marketing, and entrepreneurship techniques. There is plenty of time for information sharing and networking. NCAT provides lodging, most meals, and transportation to local farms during this week-long event.
